Currently the Laboratory of Cryptography and Cognitive Informatics has three members: Professor Dr. Marek R. Ogiela who is a head of a research group, two assistant professors and a PhD student.

Professor Dr. Marek R. Ogiela [PhD; DSc]
Works at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and Pedagogical Univeristy in Krakow. In 1992 graduated from the Mathematics and Physics Department at the Jagiellonian University. In 1996 for his honours doctoral thesis on syntactic methods of analysis and image recognition he was awarded the title of Doctor of Control Engineering and Robotics at the Faculty of Electrical, Automatic Control, Computer Science and Electronic Engineering of the AGH University of Science and Technology. In 2001 he was awarded the title of Doctor Habilitated in Computer Science for his research on medical image automatic analysis and understanding. In 2005 he received a professor title in technical sciences.
Member of numerous world scientific associations (IEEE-Senior Member, SPIE-Senior Member, SIIM etc.) as well as of the Forecast Committee `Poland 2000 Plus´ of the Polish Academy of Science and member of Interdisciplinary Scientific Committee of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (Bio cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering Section in years 2003-2011). Author of more than 220 scientific international publications on pattern recognition and image understanding, artificial intelligence, IT systems and biocybernetics. Author of recognised monographs in the field of cryptography and IT techniques; author of an innovative approach to cognitive medical image analysis. For his achievements in these fields he was awarded many prestigious scientific honors, including Prof. Taklinski´s award (twice) and the first winner of Prof. Engel`s award.

Dr. Tomasz Hachaj [PhD]
Works in Chair of Computer Science and Computational Methods at the Pedagogical University in Krakow. In 2006 graduated from Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Tadeusz Koœciuszko Krakow University of Technology. In 2010 for his doctoral thesis on pattern recognition techniques in semantic interpretation of selected lesions based on analysis of brain tissues blood perfusion visualization he was awarded the title of Doctor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical, Automatic Control, Computer Science and Electronic Engineering of the AGH University of Science and Technology. Conducts research on image processing, pattern recognition, computer graphic and artificial intelligence.

Dr. Marcin Piekarczyk [PhD]
Works in Chair of Computer Science and Computational Methods at the Pedagogical University in Krakow. In 2000 received the MS degree in automatics and robotics from AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland. He earned PhD degree in computer science from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Electronic of AGH University of Science and Technology. The PhD thesis was related to biometrics (handwritten signatures recognition) and graph grammars (stochastic, IE graphs, ETPL class). His research interests include pattern recognition and image understanding, biometric systems, bio-inspired cryptography (biometric cryptosystems), artificial intelligence, robotics and technical aspects of e-learning technology. He is a member of the IEEE, IEEE CS, IEEE SMC and ACM.

Katarzyna Koptyra [MSc]
PhD student at AGH University of Science and Technology and member of CCI Research Group at Pedagogical University in Krakow. In 2014 graduated from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at AGH-UST. She is interested in cryptography, steganography and information security.
